Our History

In the Loop was organized by an all-volunteer crew at Denver Open Media in January 2009. The plan is to produce monthly shows with featured filmmakers in the studio and on location footage from film openings and film sets.

In the Loop: Colorado Filmmaking began airing in April on Denver Open Media, Comcast Channels 56 and 57. Produced by Tanya Ishikawa, Directed by Dave Drees and Hosted by Scott Rinehart, the monthly talk show will give viewers the inside scoop on filmmaking in Colorado. In the Loop introduces the world to the films, filmmakers and everything home grown in Colorado film.

In addition to airing on Comcast, the program is viewable on various web sites throughout the month, including as live-streaming or in the show archives at www.denveropenmedia.org.

SHOW SEGMENTS

Sound Stage: In the Denver Open Media studios, we interview the top of the crop- filmmakers who have just gotten national or international distribution for a film (narrative or documentary, in theaters or on DVD).

The Screening Room: Our correspondent visits a theater in Colorado to see a U.S. premier, World premier or major opening for new films, and interviews audience members and crew.

Sneak Preview: We bring a filmmaker in the studio to talk about a film that is in the progress of being made, and show the first peek at the film trailer or clip.

On Location: We go on a film set for a feature-length or short film that's bound for festivals or distribution to show what it's like to create a film and what the visions of the filmmakers are.

Closeup: We go to a film industry event (professional meeting/party or film festival) to show what's happening and meet some of the participants.
